Bio

My name is Belinda, writing under the pseudonym Paloma Bellefeuille. I’m a mom of three adult children and a dog, and a late-blooming author fueled by a lifelong love of storytelling. I hold a BSc in Business Economics and worked as a marketing and IT consultant before leaving the field to care for my mother. During that time, I finally found the space to breathe life into stories that had long been brewing in my imagination.

Over the past few years, I’ve honed my craft by writing short stories in both Dutch and English. My niche leans toward mystery, esoterics, and psychological themes. I’m drawn to layered narratives that explore complex characters and avoid simple black-and-white conflicts.

In 2022, my writing journey took a leap forward when a short story of mine made the shortlist in an international contest, sparking a passion I hadn’t fully embraced before. A year later, after a frustrating trip to Paris with my daughter, I channeled that energy into starting a novel. That story grew into a sequel, and both are now in the final stages of editing.

At the start of 2026, writing became more than a hobby—it became a lifeline. After the sudden passing of my daughter and my mother’s admission to a care home, writing helped me cope and find stability amid the chaos. Since then, I’ve been writing with renewed purpose, as if my sanity depends on it.

I’m a devoted reader of Diana Wynne Jones, a fan of Hayao Miyazaki’s anime, and drawn to Scandinavian noir thrillers. I also have a passion for children’s literature and hope to write a children’s book someday. Though I live in the Netherlands, I take great satisfaction in crafting my stories in English.
